OUR BREAST IMPLANT REMOVAL PROCEDURE
Breast implant removal is a surgical procedure, administered under a general anaesthetic. Surgery normally lasts around one to two hours. Any intricate details of the procedure will be thoroughly discussed with Dr Terrence Scamp during the consultation process including where the incisions are placed to remove the implant.
This may be at the same incision sites where the augmentation mammoplasty (breast enlargement) was originally performed. This will allow for careful removal of the implants.
Due to having implants removed, the breasts will appear smaller. Some patients will opt to have implants replaced to alter the appearance of excess skin.
The effects of implant removal will depend on the quality of skin tissue and natural elasticity. In addition, patients who are looking to enlarge or downsize their implants may choose to have this done at the same time.
